Growing Together: West Carolina and Crescent Animal Hospital

When Crescent Animal Hospital opened its doors in Iva, South Carolina, in 2016, the plan was simple treat every patient like family. That mission hasn’t changed since. Neither has the provider Dr. Danielle Nixon called on to keep the hospital connected.
Nixon, owner and veterinarian at Crescent Animal Hospital, has relied on West Carolina from the beginning, and the relationship has grown right alongside the practice.

Growing Alongside Each Other
In the early days, Crescent’s needs were straightforward. The hospital chose West Carolina for standard POTS phone lines to keep the front desk connected. This suited the needs of a small, new practice back then. (POTS means “Plain Old Telephone Service,” a traditional analog landline phone that sends voice signals over physical copper wires.)
Lana Botts, West Carolina business solutions project manager, has watched that relationship develop over the years. “We started out with them having POTS lines and converted them to our Hosted Business Platform after several years,” Botts says. “They also have internet and security with us. We’ve been their provider since they opened, and we’ve changed with them as they’ve grown.”
Every upgrade came on Crescent’s own timeline, because staying flexible enough to meet their needs as the hospital grew mattered most.
The Network Behind the Care
From the outside, it may not seem like an animal hospital would rely on fast internet to keep its day-to-day operations running. The relationship between West Carolina and Crescent has proven that assumption wrong.
“In our day-to-day operations, we use Wi-Fi from our practice management software to our blood work machines to our pharmacy. And I know that I can count on West Carolina to make sure that it’s always running,” says Nixon.
This kind of usage requires internet that’s fast and reliable, backed by a team ready to fix any problems the hospital encounters. Keeping furry friends happy and healthy is a special purpose, and one West Carolina gets to be part of.
A Relationship Built on Trust
Crescent Animal Hospital’s story with West Carolina isn’t really about phone lines or fiber. It’s about a decade of showing up, upgrading services as needs changed, and being the kind of provider a growing local business can rely on without hesitation.
That’s the same principle behind every West Carolina partnership: build the connection that fits, then keep showing up long after the install is finished.
Thank you, Dr. Nixon and the Crescent Animal Hospital team, for trusting West Carolina with the connections that keep your hospital, and your four-legged patients, running.
