Upcountry Fiber Service Area Updates

wifi hotspot

We understand that there is a need in our communities for connectivity. Many people are without power and without cell service. We were able to get an internet hotspot connected at our new Seneca office for your use. Even though the office hasn’t officially opened yet, you can still take advantage of this free service right from our parking lot. Just connect to the network with “hotspot” in the name, and you’re good to go!

07/16/25 10:41 pm EST | Splicing in Six Mile was just completed. The damage has been repaired and all customers affected by the damage should be up and running.

07/16/25 2:49 pm EST | We are currently experiencing a service disruption affecting many customers in the Six Mile area due to damage to a major fiber cable.

A contractor working in the area inadvertently struck a key fiber line near an FDH (Fiber Distribution Hub)—a central connection point where our fiber network splits to serve homes and businesses. Unfortunately, the damage requires us to temporarily take this hub offline to safely complete repairs.

What This Means: While not all of Six Mile will be affected, a significant number of customers served by this hub will experience a temporary outage.

Our Commitment to Safety: Our crews are already on-site and are following all safety protocols. A shore box has been put in place to ensure our team can work safely and efficiently while making the necessary repairs.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to restore service as quickly and safely as possible. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

07/03/25 9:57 am EST | Last night, we had a mainline fiber cut in the Dacusville area. The cut was repaired at 1:30 am and everyone in the area should have restored internet service.

10/15/24 11:40 am EST | Today we have mainline repair crews in Salem, River Falls, Rocky Bottom, Mountain Rest, Seneca, Central, Marietta, and Pickens. Mainline splicing crews are in Marietta, Salem, Mountain Rest, Utica, Townville, Golden Corner, and Holly Springs.

Drop crews and splicers are spread throughout all service areas. We are working as quickly as we can to restore service. Thank you for your patience during this time.

10/14/24 11:22 am EST | Today we have mainline repair crews in Salem, Mountain Rest, North Pickens, Rocky Bottom, Central, Dacusville, and North Greenville. Mainline splicing Crews are in Pickens, North Pickens, Dacusville, Central, Salem, Mountain Rest, and Long Creek.

Drop crews and drop splicers are spread out across all areas, focusing specifically on areas and routes that mainline is repaired, so that they can restore your service as quickly as possible. We had additional crews come in over the weekend to help us restore your service as quickly as possible. We understand your frustration as this has taken longer than expected. The damage to our fiber is unlike anything we have ever seen or could imagine. Thank you for your continued patience and kindness.
